Wedding Photography in Stratford-Upon-Avon

St Gregory’s Church, Stratford Upon Avon

Richard and Marilyn tied the knot in June 2011 at St Gregory’s Catholic Church in Stratford Upon Avon. As usual, I spent the entire day at their wedding, covering the proceedings in my fly on the wall, documentary style. As you’ll see from the photographs we had glorious weather (June has been a fantastic month weather-wise for the last few years) As is seemingly the fashion at the moment many people matched the bright sunny mood of the day with colourful attire – which made for some great photographs.

Ashorne Hill, Leamington Spa – Warwickshire Wedding Reception

Their wedding reception was held at Ashorne Hill near Leamington Spa, in Warwickshire. Steeped in history , built before the Doomsday Book was written, Ashorne Hill dates from the era of the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest and is a Grade II listed building set in 35 acres of land – a superb backdrop for wedding celebrations!

As usual, I’ve included a few of my favourite photographs from the day below.

Hogarths Wedding Photography, Solihull

I had the great pleasure of photographing Jenny and Paul’s wedding last May. They chose Hogarths for their wedding – a very popular wedding venue, and were lucky to get in as I hear it books up long in advance. Hogarths is one of my favourite venues in the West Midlands, not far from my hometown of Solihull, near to Dorridge so it’s always a pleasure to return. The weather was is it seems to be at many of the UK weddings I photograph; sunny outbursts, with fluffy clouds providing detail in the sky – combined with nice soft diffused light from overcast spells. Hogarths picturesque grounds are the perfect setting for your wedding photographs – as a documentary wedding photographer I don’t spend very long on the formal pictures – however the romantically named “kissing bridge” which crosses the historic moat to the island is far too good a place to miss for some romantic portraits. Many couples choose to have their ceremony on the island – which as it’s covered by trees is suitable for all but the rainiest of days. I’ve photographed many weddings at Hogarths and it seems that each time I visit they’ve added something new or enhanced the landscape. This year they seem to have improved the topiary on the way down the lawn to the island. As usual, I arrived well before the ceremony to capture the preparations and left well after the first dance to ensure I was there to capture the entire story of their day. Here are a selection of my favourite photographs from their wedding. Please feel free to comment below.

Exciting news! Our web presence is being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and web 2.0 with our new website. As you can see we now have Facebook presence, Flikr profile and full site wide search. The technology of choice is WordPress, and although the recent changes have done nothing (yet) for our search results, we’re hoping that the new site will be faster to load, more engaging and easier to update with news and content thanks to the simplicity and ease of use of this popular web technology…
