Hogarths Wedding Photography, Solihull

I had the great pleasure of photographing Jenny and Paul’s wedding last May. They chose Hogarths for their wedding – a very popular wedding venue, and were lucky to get in as I hear it books up long in advance. Hogarths is one of my favourite venues in the West Midlands, not far from my hometown of Solihull, near to Dorridge so it’s always a pleasure to return. The weather was is it seems to be at many of the UK weddings I photograph; sunny outbursts, with fluffy clouds providing detail in the sky – combined with nice soft diffused light from overcast spells. Hogarths picturesque grounds are the perfect setting for your wedding photographs – as a documentary wedding photographer I don’t spend very long on the formal pictures – however the romantically named “kissing bridge” which crosses the historic moat to the island is far too good a place to miss for some romantic portraits. Many couples choose to have their ceremony on the island – which as it’s covered by trees is suitable for all but the rainiest of days. I’ve photographed many weddings at Hogarths and it seems that each time I visit they’ve added something new or enhanced the landscape. This year they seem to have improved the topiary on the way down the lawn to the island. As usual, I arrived well before the ceremony to capture the preparations and left well after the first dance to ensure I was there to capture the entire story of their day. Here are a selection of my favourite photographs from their wedding. Please feel free to comment below.
